SAN CARLOS DE BARILOCHE
Sitting by the Nahuel Huapi Lake, in the province of Río Negro, surrounded by millenary woods, snow-covered mountains and pristine lakes, Bariloche is a postcard of Patagonia.
This is one of the meeting/redemption points of the Andean Lakes Crossing, one of the most beautiful and traditional tours of the region.
You can enjoy this destination in any of the four seasons as Nature offers wonderfully immense landscapes, with snow-covered peaks and copper-colored lenga beeches through valleys filled with flowers and crystal-clear waters. By the end of the 19th century, Francisco Pascasio Moreno, an Argentine expert in border conflicts, explored this region and said Bariloche “…has the most interesting combination of natural beauties I have ever seen in Patagonia…” The Nahuel Huapi National Park was created in 1903; it was the first national park of Argentina and also the first in South America.
Climate in Bariloche
High mountain climate, with abundant rainfall, cool temperatures and limited range of temperatures throughout the year.
However, summer temperatures can reach 33 ºC / 92 ºF and winter records reached -15 ºC / 5 ºF.
The summer weather is dry and mild, with daily widely variable temperatures. The winter season receives all the rainfall, usually as snow.
